2nd Annual Bethpage Federal Credit Union & Island Harvest Turkey Drive

on Oct 5, 2010

I covered a story about Island Harvest which is a non profit organization that, helps feed hungry families all across Long Island. They partnered with Federal Credit union to collect Turkeys and nonperishable food for mis fortunate it families for Thank Giving. There are estimated to be 285,000 families and 110, ooo children, that will be with out food for the holiday season. Last year Island Harvest collected about  4,000 turkeys and 5,000 pounds of  food, and their Goal is to double the amount this year. While interviewing volunteers, people who donated food, and the president of Island Harvest(Randy , it was very rewarding to see how Long Islanders can come together and be so charitable for people in need.  It was a great story to cover, and i just hope in the future more stories such as this one…

Overall Tania, took some terrific shoots on the story, and I managed to get great interviews… as well as helping a little with, loading some Turkeys in The Loading Truck for the hungry families. always love helping out for a great cause:)

if anyone is interested to donate nonperishable food, or a Turkey for Thanksgiving you can make a contribution @ Federal Credit Union in Bethpage, or visit any Panera Bread food Restaurant across Long Island to drop off a Turkey, as well as any 711 Store…
