The Story I covered this week involved a Puppy Mill rescue at the North Shore Animal League. I encountered a much different predicament on this story that and was able to learn a lot from it. First, was the filming of live animals. When filming hyperactive puppies you have to get them in the perfect moment to establish good B-roll. So we ended up probably shooting twice as much (just in case); with different amounts of iris in a lot of the shots because of the dim lighting. The next was a technical issue with the tape in the camera that showed as, “slack02”. I found out this had something to with the tape being unable to record, and was easily solvable by simply turning the camera off and putting the tape back in. Overall, the story was a great learning experience both about Puppy Mills, and technical issues with the camera.
