Let’s talk election recap

Starting off with Nassau County Executive… at this time it is undecided. It has been nothing but a close race between Tom Suozzi and Edward Mangano for the position and it has been close with only a few hundred votes.

On the other hand, Kathleen Rice held her position as the Nassau County District Attorney and one Long Islander is happy that she was re-elected because she thinks shes a good DA.

There were a lot of candidates that were re-elected such as Nassau County Controller, Maureen O’Connell, Hempstead supervisor, Kate Murray, and North Hempstead supervisor, Jon Kaimen.

There were also a few newly elected candidates such as, Robert Troiano for 2nd district for Nassau, Thomas Cilmi for the 10th district seat in Suffolk, and also former LI News Tonight reporter, Trish Bergin, was elected to the Islip Town Board.

Starting in January, the balance of power in the Nassau Legislature will return to the GOP since there were more Republicans elected.
